It is no mystery to those closest to me that I am an Apple Kool-aid drinker. Every computer in our home is running osx. Our phones are that delightful ios device that has ruled the market for so long. Yet, when the devices or software operate at a level that I feel is subpar, then I want a new upgrade from the mothership in Cupertino, CA.
This psychology of humanity on this issue is very intriguing. It is amazing to me that we act the way we do. Yes, I can pull out the famous phrases of our parents that say something like, “eat your dinner, there are starving kids in Africa would would do anything to have the meals you have”. While this is very true, we have a piece of us that is never satisfied. Well, this is partly because of our desire to find fulfillment in things, but that isn’t what this post is about. This post is about the absurdity of people’s claims on a content provider or manufacturer.
The People vs. George Lucas is a documentary coming out that focuses on peoples disgust with George Lucas. If you work anywhere near advertising or marketing, this display of humanity comes at no surprise, but the funny thing is that there is some level of expectation that we have on the creators to fulfill our longings of emptiness that we believe that “the force” will cure.
Here are some trailers for this upcoming documentary.. you be the judge!

Some would say that these people have too much time on their hands, and this could very well be true. The greater fact is that instead of becoming the next George Lucas, they are lacking all creativity and waiting for someone else to deliver it to their mom’s basement.
